Marathon Capital Hires Gary Greenblatt as Managing DirectorMarathon Capital today announced that Gary Greenblatt has joined the firm as Managing Director for its New York City office. Mr. Greenblatt was Managing Director, Global Power and Utilities Group at Dresdner Kleinwort Securities LLC, the investment banking unit of Dresdner Bank AG, an affiliate of Allianz. The expanded New York office, which will be fully integrated with the firm's Chicago area headquarters, will leverage Marathon Capital's existing Corporate Finance Advisory business and bolster its presence in the global power and infrastructure markets. "Gary brings a wealth of knowledge and contacts in the power space," said Ted Brandt, CEO of Marathon Capital, LLC. "He will support our existing business and bolster our coverage of wind and solar power producers in North America and Europe." Prior to joining Marathon Capital, Mr. Greenblatt worked as an advisor on acquisitions and divestitures of power and related assets, and assisted clients on strategy and capital raising activities. In addition to his work at Dresdner Kleinwort, Mr. Greenblatt served as a Managing Director at New Harbor, Inc., a boutique investment bank serving electric and gas utility clients. Mr. Greenblatt also worked for Generale Bank, providing advisory services to the bank's corporate clients and subsequently joined a bank affiliate, American Tractebel Corporation, a company which develops, invests, in, and operates independent power projects, as Vice President Finance and Treasurer. Mr. Greenblatt received his BA (Economics and Finance) from Virginia Tech and his Masters for Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Greenblatt holds his Series 7 license.
