  • Apr 13, 2017 Marathon Capital Announces Fiera Infrastructure’s Acquisition of Equity Interest in DESRI-owned Renewable Energy Portfolio

    Marathon Capital is pleased to announce that Fiera Infra LP, an infrastructure fund under the management of Fiera Infrastructure Inc. (“Fiera Infrastructure”), a leading infrastructure management firm and an affiliate of Fiera Capital Corporation, has acquired an indirect equity interest in a U.S. portfolio of eight solar and wind power generation projects owned by affiliates of D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments, L.L.C. (“DESRI”) and other investors. An additional three projects are anticipated to be added to the portfolio in 2017. Marathon Capital served as Fiera Infrastructure’s exclusive buy-side financial advisor, providing valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and transaction execution support throughout the life of the acquisition process.

    Marathon Capital is pleased to announce that IGS Solar, a leading turnkey commercial and residential solar provider based in Ohio and an affiliate of IGS Energy, and ORIX USA, a division of leading integrated financial services group, ORIX Corporation (ORIX), have partnered to develop, acquire, own, and operate a nationwide portfolio of commercial and industrial solar energy projects. Marathon Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor to IGS Solar in arranging the capital commitment from ORIX. Marathon Capital’s extensive experience in the commercial and industrial solar sector served to evaluate a range of capital sources and transaction structures, culminating in the partnership with ORIX USA to fund IGS Solar’s growing project pipeline.
